Illusionism about Phenomenal Consciousness: Explaining the Illusion

Abstract According to illusionism, phenomenal consciousness is an introspective illusion. The illusion problem (Frankish 2016) explain the cause of illusion, or why we are powerfully disposed judge—erroneously—that phenomenally conscious. I propose a theory solve problem. argue that on basis three hypotheses about mind—which call opacity , infallibility intuition and justification constraint —we can our disposition, introspection, draw erroneous unconscious inferences sensory states. Being subject consists in having this disposition. ‘problem intuitions’ (Chalmers 2018)—that states bear properties qualitatively like something with which directly acquainted ineffable, atomic, intrinsic (non-relational), private, non-physical. also address meta-problem (Kammerer 2019a), illusionism seems especially counterintuitive.
